  ICCN 2014 at Panama Top


Prof. Myungsun Yi, Dr. Yongyi Chen, Dr. Kyunghee Lim, Prof. Kazuko Onishi and Dr. Winnie So attended the ICCN 2014 at Panama. They met Prof. Greta Gumming, president of ISNCC, to discuss about potentials for collaborations of educational and professional related activities for oncology nurses worldwide. The executive committee also took this opportunity to promote the 2 nd AONS conference to the conference delegates.






  Past-president Award Top


Congratulations to Ms. Bo Xu to receive the ISNCC Past-president's Award. Ms. Xu is the board member of AONS, Director of Division of Nursing, Cancer Institute and Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and the director of oncology nursing committee, Chinese Nursing Association. This award is given in recognition of a cancer nurse from a low or middle resource country who has initiated and sustained a program of cancer care at least three years and has the potential for replication or adaptation beyond the country's borders.


  UICC World Cancer Congress 2014 Top


ISNCC hosted a session at UICC World Cancer Congress 2014 (3-6 December) in Melbourne, Australia, in partnerships with the European Oncology Nursing Society, CNSA, Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and Asian Oncology Nursing Society (AONS). The session was titled "How International Oncology Nurses are working together to accelerate progress." Prof. Kazuko Onishi represented AONS to speak at the session.   The 40 th Annual Oncology Nursing Society Congress Top


On behalf of the AONS, Myungsun Yi, the president, attended ONS Annual Congress to participate to the international session on "Global Perspectives on Integrative Oncology" moderated by Margaret Barton-Burke, the President of ONS. Georgia Decker from US, Andreas Charalambous from Cyprus, Myungsun Yi from South Korea, and Tracy Truant from Canada presented about complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practices, intervention studies using CAM, and CAM decision support, respectively. The session was well-received by the audiences.

  AONS, CANO, EONS, ISNCC and ONS Issued Joint Statement for WNTD 2015 Top


World Health Organization (WHO) marks May 31 st of every year as World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) to highlight the health risks associated with tobacco use and advocate for policies to reduce tobacco consumption. For 2015, WHO is calling on everyone to work together to end the illicit trade of tobacco products.

The Asian Oncology Nursing Society (AONS), Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO), European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS), International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC) and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) issued a joint statement to celebrate World No Tobacco Day 2015.
